Congrats to Drew and Catherine on their new painting!
This piece I titled Mogwai Terror and it was done for a themed show at BLVD Gallery in 2009 Seattle. The theme for the show was FANATIC and it entailed anything you were fanatic about when you where younger. I ADORED Mogwai’s and always wanted one of my own. This is my take on Spike and the terror he instills on Gizmo. I tried to convey a playful and mischievous manner rather than full on scary.
It always made me feel odd to at times root for Spike when he was doing mischievous things. He was so rad. Goes to show we may all have a bit of Gizmo AND Spike in us all!
Again, thank you for your support and I am glad this piece became a part of your collection!

Geneva McQueen Memorial Fund for Chill
This organization take kids from the dreary grey city to the mountains and teaches them to overcome their fears and inhibitions through snowboarding. Everything is paid for, lesson, lift, gear and more. This organization I have had the privilege to have worked with as a chaperone where I too learned to overcome a mountain. I am so thankful for the opportunity to grow and learn. The people that foster this organization are amazing.
Geneva McQueen was an inspiration to many generations of Chill kids, mentors and chaperones. Here is a blurb from the foundation’s donation site;
Geneva’s contributions to Chill were nothing short of amazing and exceptional across her decade of volunteerism. She truly helped to make Chill (and Chill Seattle specifically) the program that it is today and embodied every facet of a tremendously philanthropic individual, the kind that truly makes the world a better place. To say that she will be missed would be a dramatic understatement.
Please if you can, donate to this amazing organization and to continuing the memory of someone that had the motivation to change the world. With the small things in life you can too!

I have been a bit behind in my work and have finally got the Red Wolf Prints up and ready to ship. Of course these are shipped sans watermark, so don’t fear, the lettering will NOT be on your beautiful print. These are all on exquisite 11x17 rich textured paper. Very similar to velvet, the reds in this print show up excellent and I am pleased with how well they turned out.

Walk through the Woods...
My box from the Boxes of Death show. This piece was modeled off Indonesian Shadow-puppets and created a stage for Little Red Riding Hood. I have been very interested in these and my most recent trip to the San Francisco Asian Art Museum only fueled the inspiration.
Cheers to the person who purchased this piece, I hope it brings them much happiness!
Thank you all for your support,

Southgate Roller Rink skate installation on Flickr.
Roller skating party THIS Saturday for White Center’s Art Walk. My little family was there last weekend for the Zombie Prom for the Rainier Roller Derby and had a blast.
I have been working on an installation piece from old roller-skate wheels for this month’s art walk as well as other artists in and around White Center/West Seattle. Be sure to stop by, it will be White Center’s Art Walk so a lot of the local businesses will have art, entertainment as well as goodies to eat!
See you soon!

A photo by Vinnie Martinez

Paintings and images are amazing. Yes, but there is nothing more exquisite than a moment in the life of a photographers eyes that capture a feeling or essence. Although I spent many a hour on perfecting the little animal faces and the colors that went into LOLA’s zoo letters, the feeling you get from this black and white image is much more playful than I could convey just on my lonesome. Just a thought, cheers!
